Multi Sized Niches
Eickhof Columbaria has engineered a niche system that allows different sized niches in the same columbarium wall.
The top image shows both the 8" x 8" niche and the 12" x 12" niche. The 8" x 8" niche will accommodate two 5 ½" x 5 ½" x 7" sheet bronze urns (as shown above). The larger 12" x 12" niches will accommodate the larger, more ornate style of urn. By combining different sized columbarium niches you obtain more opportunities to provide columbarium niches at different price points.
For every two feet of width, and every two feet of height, you obtain four 12" x 12" niches and nine 8" x 8" niches. (See above shaded areas.)
As an example the elevation of niches shown above would yeild a total of 40 niches if they were all 12" x 12" niches. By combining 12" x 12" and 8" x 8" niches (as shown) you will obtain 60 niches.
Shown here is an example of a niche front inscription by Eickhof Columbaria in 8" x 8" and 12" x 12" niche front layout. Inscriptions by Eickhof can be on stone up to 16" x 16".
Our recommendations for your 8"x 8" fronts are as follows: lettering in the Optima typeface at ⅜" high including first, middle, and last name of the individual and the dates in year format.
Our recommendations for your 12" x 12" niche fronts are as follows: lettering in the Optima typeface at ½" high including first, middle, and last name of the individual and the dates in year format.
Each Eickhof niche has an individual inner closure panel.
A simple turn tab is located at the top edge of the inner closure panel. This allows simple removal and replacement of the inner closure panel without a screwdriver, which eliminates the possibility of misplaced screws or other types of fasteners.
For exterior columbarium installations, the inner closure panel provides a barrier against windblown debris such as leaves and dirt.
The inner closure panel fashioned from aluminum provides an aesthetically pleasing look to the columbarium niche at time of inurnment. Families will appreciate this quality.
